Smoothie variations
Sometimes i just need to switch it up. Here are some inspirations. As always, use what you have on hand, nothing has to be exact.
Making your own nut milk
1 cup raw walnuts (or any other nut), soaked 4+ hours, or 30 min in hot water
3 cups filtered water
Rinse the walnuts and place in blender. Add 3x filtered water, blend 2 min or so. Strain the milk with a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl. Push the walnut pulp in the strainer with the back of a spoon to get all of the milk out. Pour the strained milk into a sealable container and refrigerate until ready to use. The milk will separate, so just shake it every time you use it. Use the walnut chunks in soups if you like!
