The Good Spice Tonic

The Good Spice Tonic

  • 1 Tbsp fresh chopped turmeric, or 1/2 tsp powder

  • 1 Tbsp fresh chopped ginger, or 1/2 tsp powder

  • 1 clove+ garlic, minced, and let sit 5 min before placing in the heat (activates with chopping/crushing)

  • 1 lemon, zest and juice

  • 2 Tbs ACV, apple cider vinegar

  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup or honey

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper (activates the turmeric!)

  • 3 cups filtered water

  • 2 Tbs Goji berries, dried

  • 1 tsp reishi powder

Instructions

  1. Add all to a saucepan, bring to a simmer (not a boil), 20 min or more.

  2. Set a small strainer over serving glasses and divide between two mugs. If too strong, dilute with more hot/warm water. Serve with lemon slice.

  3. Store (strained) leftovers in the refrigerator up to 2-3 days. Reheat on the stovetop until just warm.
