The Good Spice Tonic
1 Tbsp fresh chopped turmeric, or 1/2 tsp powder
1 Tbsp fresh chopped ginger, or 1/2 tsp powder
1 clove+ garlic, minced, and let sit 5 min before placing in the heat (activates with chopping/crushing)
1 lemon, zest and juice
2 Tbs ACV, apple cider vinegar
1-2 tsp maple syrup or honey
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp cracked black pepper (activates the turmeric!)
3 cups filtered water
2 Tbs Goji berries, dried
1 tsp reishi powder
Instructions
Add all to a saucepan, bring to a simmer (not a boil), 20 min or more.
Set a small strainer over serving glasses and divide between two mugs. If too strong, dilute with more hot/warm water. Serve with lemon slice.
Store (strained) leftovers in the refrigerator up to 2-3 days. Reheat on the stovetop until just warm.
